What is AITP
The Association of Information Technology Professionals is an organization that has kept pace with the changing needs and interests of the IT industry. It is a group composed of IT professionals, students, and numerous volunteers scattered across all fields, professions, and regions that have one goal: the advancement of individual growth through networking and mentoring to promote creativity in the IT world.
Who is Texas State AITP
Texas State AITP encapsulates the core values of AITP and reproduces the same high level benefits that are gained at a national level. As a student chapter, we urge our members to utilize every tool that is available to help propel us through our educational career and help our transition into a professional career. When we are not busy putting together events such as our annual High School IT Symposium or preparing for regional and national competitions, our officers and members are hard at work in the community participating in local projects such as Bobcat Build, a community outreach program, or helping to create the first ever AITP High School chapter in the entire nation.
Our Mission
Texas State AITP is committed to improving the understanding of the nature and functions of IT (information technology) in the business environment. We strive to foster among students a better understanding of the vital business role of IT including the most current hardware and software, the proper relationship of IT to management, and the necessity for a professional attitude among IT professionals in their approach to understanding and applying the principles underlying the science of information technology. We will encourage professional and social networking between students, faculty, and business professionals in an informative and technologically advanced environment.
